Fallen Room
Growing up, I have always identified as an Otaku girl. Originally meaning home in Japanese, Otaku is used to describe the subculture of people cloistering in their bedroom to satisfy their interests in anime. My project, "Fallen Room", use otaku girl's bedroom as a point of departure to investigate issues of gender, domestic space, and media consumption. To me, the bedroom of otaku girls is both a space of intimacy and deterioration; this is the place where I can induige my passion for consuming arime comfortablys yet also the space of chaos that hides the dark secrets of girlhood.
